My story, part one-ish
Bomb Lipuka
We are all driven by stories. Stories we tell ourselves and stories we tell others. Good ones, bad ones and most that we cannot tell which category to put them into. My friend Bomb can tell you. He has lived such a life, one that is full of narratives, stories and tales.
You would assume 'Bomb' is a nickname. Can you imagine your parents calling you that? Every time I have to mention his name, in like a queue, I always smile.
"Bomb Lipuka, ID 3650dk, phone 0875...."
Bomb is such a character. And one day, recently actually, I asked Bomb — character is all we want. Life is short, why not be entertained while at it? Today you are wrong, tomorrow you are effed up, and the day after you have all the attention.
"Why are you a hero when you explode in my enemy's camp, a vigilante when you explode at my acquaintance's camp and an enemy when you explode in my friend's camp?", I asked Bomb last Tuesday. His answer was as deserving as the moon deserves reflecting the sun.
"My, guy," Bomb started. "We live in a world ruled by incentives first and the rest follows. Today we're friends but tomorrow isn't promised. Make hay while the sun shines, we do not influence the seasons."
"Bomb Lipuka is your name, literally," I defend. "Your name is a symbol for chaos. Your intentions are chaotic too." I defend. I can hear a strange sound in my voice shouting my defence. "You can be right, I may be wrong," my mouth talks.
"Bomb, we can agree on most things and this is not decided yet," I propose. "You are known for performances, captivating your audiences along the way. My name is Lipuka, welcome to bomboclat." Shit!
Things just escalated. Bomb was not backing down. My goodness, he just gained some confidence. He is more arrogant. More confident and carrying more hunger. I always knew this would reach me. Chickens are back home to roost.
"If it's sex, I've exploded a many of times. Cantankerous, yes I have been." Bomb asserted drilling into my eyes. I was blank, socially, I mean. Mentally I was still active. But how do you deal with such opponents? "You've always assumed me as a victim, of my name and everything after it." Lipuka pushed.
"You have been having it so easy, you would entertain my effort as arrogance. I'll not confront you." Bomb was becoming such a speech. He had gained some voice, a convincing voice. Not arrogant, palatable yet not fully truthful. Shit, dealing with snakes is hard.
"Bomb, I agree with you more than we disagree." Damn this. "Life is as it is. Cycles and circles, it all goes. You are angry, yet not at me. You see, Lipuka," I responded in my element. "I'm not perfect, neither shall I be, nor am I trying to be. But I will never jump my partners. Are you my partner?", I commanded praying to heavens for my commandments.
